FIIDS 2024 Highlights

  • Indo-American Advocacy Summit:
    • Engaged with ~100 elected officials on Capitol Hill to discuss US-India Partnerships, Indo-Pacific partnerships, tech immigration reforms and religious-phobia  
  • U.S.-India Partnership Summit:
    • Featured Ambassadors, senior State Department officials, the NSF Director, 12+ elected officials and leaders of USIBC, USISPF and AJC
  • Tech Immigration Summit:
    • Focused on reducing ~400K Green Card backlogs, advocating for employment-based immigration.
  • US-India Celebrations of Democracies:
    • Hosted in Silicon Valley, Ohio, and Illinois, attended by 32 local elected officials and 2 Consul Generals of India.
  • Diaspora Human Rights Advocacy:
    • Campaigns on attacks against Indian diaspora, including Hindu temples in the U.S., Canada, and Bangladesh.
    • Awareness programs on rising student deaths, engaging the State Department and Justice Department.
  • Youth Engagement:
    • Placed 4 Indian American interns in the US Congress on the Hill.
    • Conducted a 10-week Certificate Program in Civic Engagement for 43 high schoolers.
  • Million Voters Campaign:
    • Mobilized organizations to increase voter registrations, publishing resources on IndoAmericanElectionGuide.org.
  • Global Awareness Initiatives:
    • Collaborated with AJC and Armenian organizations on terrorism and genocide awareness.
    • Advocated for diaspora rights to IRF and USCIRF.
  • Washington DC Presence:
    • Established a dedicated office and staff for sustained advocacy on policies and bills.

Looking Ahead to 2025: In addition to continuing above, we also plan to add

  • International Conference on Indo-Pacific.
  • ICET Advocacy: Strengthening tech and defense collaborations between the U.S. and India.
  • Expanding efforts on legal immigration reform and diaspora safety.
